Here is our 2nd big project of the summer: an outdoor firepit.
I don't have a "before" picture, but just picture lots of dirt and weeds! We added a circular brick base to set the brick firepit on, then added grass around it for low maintenance.
Wow, we love it so much. And so do the chickens (who are getting big fast) and who are often seen perched on top of the pit.

So far this summer we've enjoyed roasting hot dogs and smores, and had a bonfire or two. I hope to venture on to tin foil dinners and maybe dutch oven cooking if I can work up the nerve.
For now, we're loving the new "view".

Right on! This is gorgeous! My family would ADORE having one of those in our yard. Too bad the town I live in won't allow it. :( I guess I'll have to stare longingly at yours.... :)
