I'm in love with my new sofas.
They are the ektorp style from Ikea, which were just the right price. I even got extra slipcovers, because with 4 kids (and too many cats) I couldn't beat the $30 price tag.
Of course when you get a new sofa, new pillows usually follow. I found some cute blue toile ones (also at Ikea), and made some out of grain sacks purchased from etsy.
I'm loving the lightness they bring to the whole space.
You can catch a glimpse of my mirror gallery wall that I've been slowly adding to. My newest favorite thrift store find is the gold ornate one in the bottom right corner.
If you're wondering about white slipcovered couches too, or why I'd be crazy enough to buy them, check out this review here.
keep primping,

Beautiful pics, I love the pillows you chose for the sofas:)

I'm enjoying Picmonkey as well. Your room looks like a magazine spread.

They are so pretty, we have been looking for a new sofa and chair but so far no luck in finding what we want. I really like yours and the slipcovers are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Michele! So light and bright! Take my advice...don't put the slipcovers in the dryer...they WILL shrink and not fit anymore. Yes, I was dumb enough to do that. :)
ReplyDeleteit looks awesome, Michele. And my white slipcovered sofa is my favorite place in my whole house. It is so easy to keep clean. Honestly, you are going to love it more and more as time goes on. My kid's friend got red velvet cake batter on it a few weeks ago. I know....red dye. I thought to myself, red wine has come out, chocolate has come out but red cake batter? Threw it in the wash with some oxyclean and it came out perfectly!

Love the new sofas. I think when our's die we'll get the ektorp ones. With kids and pets, I think Ikea is the way to go (until they get older) then one day I might have a really fancy deep one :) Love the pillows too. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour new couches look so beautiful in your home! That is one of the things I love about my ektorp is changing out the pillows and trying different looks/colors. :)
ReplyDeleteI love my 2x ektorp too, had it about 16 months now and I also got two pairs of slipcovers- makes it so easy to wash!
ReplyDeleteYour space is so beautiful! I love how the sofas look in it. And thanks a bunch for linking to my review. Hope you love your sofas!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new babies! Those couches are gorgeous. Love the look of white sofas. Maybe one day? Enjoy, it looks awesome!!
